Carcinoid tumors are cancers of cells that into the bloodstream chemical messengers that cause flushing. The tumors are usually found in the intestine, but they can also be found in other parts of the body, including the lung and the pancreas. Most carcinoid tumors are very slow growing, and a person can go many years without symptoms.
